Forget the stiff backdrops and hot lights. Forget standing
in line at your local superstore. Forget 1-2-3 SMILE and
squeaky toy props. Stop the cookie-cutter approach and get
natural! All of my portraits are shot on location, either
at your home or another chosen site. I prefer to be a fly
on the wall and capture the subject behaving in his or her
usual fashion. Capturing the essence of my subject is much
more important to me than making sure all hairs are in place.
I would rather capture peoples’ true personalities
than how they happen to look on a given day.
For those who prefer
the more traditional portrait look, I am able to create time-honored
photographs with a lot less
stress than sitting under heavy lights in the studio. The
photos in my gallery that look as if they are in a studio
are actually taken in client’s homes in very relaxed atmospheres,
then manipulated to give them a studio feel.
More than a memento, natural portraiture is an incredible
gift from photographer to client—an heirloom—for
it freezes a moment that will soon be gone. |
